#24 Wrestling Finishes Fifth at Citrus Invitational; Raiders Have Eight Placewinners

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The No. 24 ranked Mount Union wrestling team had eight place on its way to a fifth place finish at the Citrus Invitational in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Senior Josh Malave (Rocky River/Lutheran West) finished second at 141 and fellow senior Derick Hesson (Dexter City/Caldwell) placed third to headline the Purple Raider placewinners.

The other Mount Union wrestlers that placed were fifth place finishes by freshman Ben Kazimir (Auburn Twp./Kenston) at 141 and senior Kevin Shadrach (Parma/Parma) at 149, a sixth place finish by senior Andy Jenkins (Stow/Woodridge) at 184 and seventh place finishes by freshman Bryant Roby (Westchester, Ill./St. Joseph) at 133 and senior John Piechuta (Alliance/Marlington) at 165.

Freshman Jon Garrison (Fairlawn/Copley) rounded out the placewinners with an eighth place finish at 157.

Mount Union will take another road trip next weekend as the Raiders participate in the Cliff Keen National Duals Jan. 7-8 in Springfield, Illinois.
