Wrestling: Mount Union Tabbed Fifth in OAC Coaches Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union's wrestling team was picked fifth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

Receiving 20 votes, the Purple Raiders have 13 incoming wrestlers that will be joining three top returners, who are also serving as this year's captains in seniors Alec Cotton (Hartville/Lake), Jesse Gross (Norwalk/St. Paul) and Nick Mancini (Boardman/Boardman).

Cotton returns as an NCAA qualifer who finished last season with an overall record of 26-4, regional runner-up and OAC Wreslter of the Year. Gross had a record of 20-10 as a regional place winner while Mancini went 18-9 and returns as a three-time regional placer and three-time All-OAC first team selection.

Mount Union opens the season with a pair of home events in Peterson Fieldhouse -- the Mount Union Invitational on November 11 and Mount Union Duals on November 18.
