WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- No. 13 Mount Union finished in first place at the 7th Annual Waynesburg Invitational on Saturday evening recording 206.5 points, while University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire came in second with 172.5 points and host No. 22 Waynesburg came in third with 131.5.
The Purple Raiders had 10 placers, with four first-place finishers in Nolan Wochna (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) at 133, Alec Cotton (Hartville/Lake) at 141, Luke Hernandez (Nashport/Tri-Valley) at 149 and Michael McIntire (Wadsworth/St. Vincent-St. Mary) at 157. Wochna led the way with a big win for the Raiders as he defeated No. 7 Ricky Cavallo (Johns Hopkins) in the semifinals by decision 5-4.
Mount Union will travel to Ashland, Ohio to face the nationally-ranked Eagles in a dual match on Wednesday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m.
