Wrestling: #9 Mount Union Takes Down John Carroll on the Road

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - No. 9 in the nation Mount Union remained perfect in Ohio Athletic Conference duals this season with a 29-12 win at John Carroll (5-6, 0-4 OAC) Wednesday at the DeCarlo Varsity Center.

The Purple Raiders (10-1, 4-0 OAC) won seven of 10 matches headlined by a tech fall and a pin.

No. 6 nationally ranked Nick Mancini (Boardman/Boardman) got that tech fall in just 1:38 in the 125 pound match.

The pin came from Michael McIntire (Wadsworth/St. Vincent-St. Mary) as he improved to 20-2 on the year with a first period fall at 157 pounds. McIntire has not lost a match since November 11. 

Mount Union will next travel to Wheaton, Illinois to compete in the Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College on Friday and Saturday, January 26-27.
