Tournament Details

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- After the first day of competition at the 56th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships, Mount Union senior Jairod James (Bedford) went 3-1 to advance in the consolation bracket at 174 pounds. 

As the 11th seed, James began the tournament with a 5-4 decision over Dj Shannon (Titan Mercury - California).

In the second round of the championship bracket, James fell to sixth-seeded Brit Wilson (Northern Illinois) by pin-fall at 5:00.

James wrapped up the day with a pair of 3-2 decisions; first against Grant Cuomo (Princeton) and then against the No. 3 seed, and nationally-ranked No. 10 in Division I, Johnny Sebastian (Northwestern) for an upset.
