Wrestling: Raiders Beat in Dual at NCAA DII Ashland

ASHLAND, Ohio – Mount Union wrestling team fell in a non-conference dual at NCAA Division II's No. 8 ranked team, Ashland, 30-17 Friday at Kates Gymnasium.

The Purple Raiders (10-3) got a forfeit win at 125 pounds while David Massey (Cuyahoga Falls / Woodridge) scored a technical fall win at 133 pounds to take an early 11-0 lead.

Ashland (3-1) then won the next seven matches that included bonus points with a pin, a medical forfeit, a technical fall and a major decision.

The Raiders got six more points with a pin from Grant Martin (Hartville / Lake) at 285.

Mount Union is back in action Sunday hosting the Purple Raider Open inside Peterson Field House in Alliance.
