Wrestling: Mount Union Ranked #10 in NWCA Rankings; Four Individuals Ranked

Mount Union's wrestling team is ranked No. 10 in the nation by the National Wrestling Coaches Association in this week's rankings.

The Purple Raiders are 14-3 overall in dual meets this season which also includes going 6-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference matches to claim a share of the conference title. Mount Union has won 12-straight conference duals dating back to the 2017-18 season.

The Raiders also have four wrestlers in the NWCA Individual Rankings as junior Jordin James (Bedford) is ranked No. 2 at 141 pounds, junior Luke Hernandez (Nashport / Tri-Valley) is ranked No. 4 at 149 pounds, senior Grant Martin (Hartville / Lake) is No. 7 at 285 pounds and junior Antwon Pugh (Copley) is No. 8 at 157 pounds.

James is 22-2 overall this season and year ago was an All-American as he won the national title at 133 pounds.

Hernandez has a 20-4 record this year and his 79 career wins is currently 19th on the school's all-time list.

Martin is 19-1 this year with 13 of those 19 wins coming by pin. He has pinned all five OAC wrestlers he has faced this season in the first period.

Pugh has a 16-3 mark in 2019-20 with 10 pins and was an All-American with a second place finish at the NCAA Championships a year ago.

Mount Union travels to the Pete Willson Invitational this weekend at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
