AUSTINTOWN, Ohio—University of Mount Union junior Kylee Kolesar (Mentor/Mentor) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
Kolesar scored five goals and added three assists during the Purple Raiders' first three games of the season. She scored two goals against Waynesburg (Pa.), scored two goals and had an assist against Spalding (Ky.), and scored a goal to go with two assists against Hilbert (N.Y.). She is the first Purple Raider since Cortney Frederick in 2006 to score at least one goal in three consecutive games.
Sparked by the play of Kolesar, Mount Union is 3-0 under first-year head coach Kelley Clark. This is their best beginning to a season since 2002 (2-0-2).
The Purple Raiders will return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Westminster (Pa.) for a game at 5 pm in New Wilmington, Pa.
