Women’s Soccer Falls On The Road To Penn State-Behrend

ERIE, Pa. -- Mount Union's women's soccer team was handed their first loss as they fell 2-1 at Penn State-Behrend Tuesday night.

Sam Pace put the Lions up 1-0 in the 48th minute off a breakaway, low shot and beat goalkeeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) in the net.

Junior Gina Wall (Warren/Howland) tied the game at one when she shot the ball into the upper left corner of the net in the 56th minute.

It would be Lions leading scorer Alex Bilka that would put the Lions over the Raiders in the final five minutes of play.

Favorite had three saves on the night, while the Raiders outshot the Lions 12-10.

The Purple Raiders look to bounce back when they open at home against Allegheny (Pa.) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
