Gameday Preview: Women's Soccer Takes On Baldwin Wallace Wednesday

Mount Union's women's soccer travels to Baldwin Wallace in their final Ohio Athletic Conference regular season road matchup Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 pm in Berea.

With just two regular season game remaining, the Purple Raiders (11-5-1, 4-3) find themselves in a three-way tie in the conference.

Mount Union goes into Baldwin Wallace, losing in double overtime to Otterbein, 2-1, Saturday.

On the season, sophomore Shannon Evans (Newbury/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) leads Mount Union and is ranked second in the OAC with 10 goals and her 25 points leads the conference. Junior keeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) leads the OAC in goals-against average (0.74) and save percentage (.859).

Baldwin Wallace (13-4, 4-3-0) is on a two-game skid including losses at John Carroll (1-0) and at Capital (2-0) on Saturday.

Heather Keller leads the Yellow Jackets with seven goals, four assists, and her 18 points ranks her fifth in the conference.

This is the 27th meeting between the two teams with Baldwin Wallace holding 12-10-4 lead in the series. Mount Union last defeated Baldwin Wallace, 3-2, in 2004. In last year's meeting the Yellow Jackets defeated the Raiders 3-0 in Alliance.

Mount Union concludes regular season play Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 pm against Heidelberg at Mount Union Stadium. Prior to the start of the game, the team will honor its seniors.
