WILMINGTON, Ohio—Mount Union senior Carolyn Balzano recorded two goals and her 25th career assist, which broke the team's individual career assist record, in Saturday evening's 3-2 win over Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington.

Jill Martin, who played on the women's soccer team from 1988-91, held the team's individual assist record for the last 25 years, which she set at 24. Balzano's (Poland/Poland Seminary) assist was also her 10th of the season, which tops the OAC.

In addition, sophomore Nicole Lanese (Macedonia/Nordonia) notched her 17th goal of the season, which is tied for leading the conference. It also puts her in fifth place for number of goals scored by an individual in a season at Mount Union.

The Purple Raiders advance to 8-6-2 on the season and 4-1-2 in the OAC, while Wilmington falls to 5-6-4 and 0-5-2 in conference play.

With this win, Mount Union officially clinched a spot in the OAC Tournament, which will be the team's 9th ever appearance and the first since 2014.

Mount Union travels to University Heights, Ohio on Wednesday, Oct. 26th to play John Carroll University at 4 p.m.
