Women's Soccer: Mount Union Loses in Overtime at Penn State-Behrend

ERIE, Pennsylvania -- Mount Union's women's soccer team (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season to Penn State-Behrend (4-2) in overtime by a score of 3-2.

Junior Nicole Lanese (Macedonia / Nordonia) scored the only two goals of the night for the Purple Raiders for her seventh and eighth goals of the season. 

Lanese got the scoring going in the 12th minute off an assist from freshman Brittany McCauley (Ontario / Ontario) and then scored an unassisted goal in the 27th minute to make the score 2-0. The Lions scored their first goal of the game in the 40th minute to make the score of 2-1 at halftime.

The only goal in the second half came off the foot of the Lions Olivia Belack in the 88th minute to make the score 2-2 heading into overtime.

The Lions scored in overtime in the 99th minute off the foot of Jordan Oberlander to make the final 3-2 in overtime.

The Raiders will be back on the pitch next Wednesday, September 20 at home against Defiance at 7:30 p.m.
