Women's Soccer: Purple Raiders and Yellow Jackets Draw in Berea

BEREA, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's soccer team ended their Ohio Athletic Conference matchup with Baldwin Wallace in a 1-1 tie. 

The Purple Raiders (6-3-1, 0-1-1) were outshot in the contest 29-18 but each team only converted once throughout the game. 

Junior Nicole Lanese (Macedonia/Nordonia) scored her OAC leading 12th goal of the season in the 18th minute of the game and Mount Union led 1-0 at the half.

Baldwin Wallace (8-3-1, 1-0-1) tied the game in the 61st minute on a goal from Alex Elliot.

Mount Union outshot the Jackets 2-1 in the first overtime and 2-0 in the second overtime but could not convert on any of the chances.  

Senior Paige Freel (Niles/Niles McKinley) faced nine shots on goal with eight saves on the night.

The Raiders come back home to play Heidelberg Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Mount Union Stadium.
