Women's Soccer: Mount Union Rallies For Road Win at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Muskingum 2-1 Wednesday evening in New Concord.

Sophomore Cortni Arp (Copley) netted the game-winner in the 69th minute off a pass from sophomore Brittany McCauley (Ontario) as the Purple Raiders moved to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the OAC.

Junior Lauren Beech (Hanoverton / United Local) put Mount Union on the board early as she scored an unassisted goal in the fifth minute.

Muskingum (5-8, 0-4 OAC) tied the game in the 31st minute and the score was 1-1 at halftime.

Mount Union held a commanding shot advantage at 35-5 while freshman Michelle Kissane (Amherst / Steele) posted two saves in goal for the Raiders.

The Raiders next travel to Capital for an OAC game Saturday, October 13 at 7 p.m. in Columbus.
