ALLIANCE, Ohio--Mount Union's women's soccer team collected an Ohio Athletic Conference victory over conference foe Heidelberg 6-0 Saturday evening at Mount Union Stadium.
Five different Purple Raiders scored in the match while the Mount Union defense shutdown Heidelberg allowing four shots.
Mount Union improves to 8-6 and 5-2 in the OAC while Heidelberg falls to 6-10-1 and 1-6 in the OAC.
Junior Danielle Rohrman (Olney, Md./Sherwood) netted her goal in the 28th minute to double the Purple Raider lead.
Sophomore Cortni Arp (Copley) recorded her two goals four minutes apart to put Mount Union up 4-0 heading into the intermission break.
Junior Abbie Andrews (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) collected her first goal of the season in the 61st minute giving the Purple Raiders a commanding 5-0 lead.
Senior Brooke Schmidt (Massillon/Jackson) added to the Mount Union score column with a kick 25 yards out that struck the right side of the net.
Freshman goalkeeper Michelle Kissane (Amherst/Marion L. Steele) stood tall in net making two saves for her sixth shutout victory on the season.
