FREDONIA, N.Y.—Mount Union got their first win of the season against Oswego St. (N.Y.) 2-1 on freshman Andrea Decker's (Hillard / Hillard Bradley) first goal of her college career and Cortni Arp's (Copley) first goal of the season.
Mount Union (1-1-1) and Oswego St. (1-2) were scoreless until senior Maggie O'Donnell (Avon) sent a through ball to Decker in the 36th minute to score a goal and give the Purple Raiders a 1-0 lead into halftime. This was O'Donnell's first assist of the season.
Arp got in on the firsts as she scored her first goal of the season in the 75th minute to give Mount Union a 2-0 lead.
Oswego got a goal off a deflection in the 78th minute to make the score to 2-1 but the Raiders defense held up for the last 12 minutes to win the game.
Mount Union plays again tomorrow, Saturday, September 7 at 12:30 p.m. against Fredonia State.
