Women's Swimming Remains Unbeaten with Win Over Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio—Senior Alyson Kolesar (Stow/Stow), junior Jocelyn Gaydos (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), junior Katy Alkire (Akron/Firestone), and sophomore Courtney Gabel (Fremont/Fremont Ross) each won multiple events to lead the Mount Union women's swimming and diving team to a 134-80 victory Saturday afternoon at Ohio Wesleyan.

Gaydos took first in the 100 Free (57.84) and teamed with Kolesar, senior Taylor Harrison (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia), and freshman Wilma Levengood (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) to win the 400 Medley Relay (4:21.34). She teamed with Kolesar, junior Elizabeth Juran (Independence/Independence), and freshman Carly Brown (Strongsville/Strongsville) to win the 200 Free Relay (1:44.51).

Gabel won a pair of events by finishing first in the 50 Free (25.19) and 100 Breast (1:12.71).

Alkire claimed wins in the 200 IM (2:21.54) and 500 Free (5:34.37) for the Purple Raiders.

Harrison also won the 200 Free (2:03.17) while sophomore Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) by winning the 100 Back (1:04.62).

Mount Union will be action next Saturday, November 19th  as they swim at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
