MEET RECAP- Women’s Swimming And Diving Wins Close Meet At Florida Tech
MELBOURNE, Florida - - Women's Swimming and Diving remained undefeated with 103-101 victory over Florida Tech in a non-conference swim meet Sunday afternoon (Jan 6.).
With the win, Mount Union remains perfect with an 8-0 record, while Florida Tech falls to 1-6.
Junior Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) took first place in all three of her events, the 50 yard freestyle (26.09), the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.84), and swam the anchor leg in the 200 yard freestyle (1:45.02) relay that finished in first place and had teammates sophomore Carly Brown (Strongsville/Strongsville) and freshman Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley) and Lauren Lammlein (Uniontown/Hoover).
Freshman Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass. /Mansfield) finished the 200 yard IM in first place with a time of 2:20.78.
The Purple Raiders return to the Hammond Natatorium this Saturday (Jan 7.) for an Ohio Athletic Conference meet against Ohio Northern at 1:00 p.m.
