Mount Union junior Courtney Gabel (Fremont/Fremont Ross) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer Of The Week.
This is the third time Gabel has earned women's swimmer of the week honors this season.
Gabel earned the honor after finishing four events in first place in the meet at Westminster.
She finished first in the 50 yard freestyle (24.83), 100 freestyle (55.67), 200 yard freestyle (2:01.04) and swam breaststroke in the 200 medley relay (1:53.42) which was comprised of junior Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) who swam backstroke, sophomore Carly Brown (Strongsville/Strongsville) who swam butterfly and freshman Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley) who swam freestyle.
Despite Gabel's performances, the Purple Raiders came up on the short end falling to Westminster 180-111.
Mount Union's next meet will be the OAC championships February 14-16 at the University of Akron.
