Women's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Defeated by Wooster Friday

WOOSTER, Ohio- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team lost to Wooster 163-76 Friday night at the Timken Natatorium.

The Purple Raiders were led by Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) who won two events on the night and Alex Hamit (Massillon/Massillon) who won one event on the night.

Lautenschleger won the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.85 and the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.27. Hamit won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.51.

Sarah Gonda (Boardman/Boardman) was came in second right behind Hamit in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.52. Hamit, Peyton Kranz (Berea/Berea), Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyhoga Falls) and Ann Zielasko (Silver Lake/Archbishop Hoban) all came in second place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.90.

Mount Union travels to Ohio Northern tomorrow, Jan. 16 to compete at 1:30 p.m.
