Women's Swimming and Diving: Mount Union Hosts Wilmington in Last Home Meet of the Season

ALLIANCE, Ohio- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving hosts Wilmington Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hammond Natatorium.

The Purple Raiders are coming of a 169-125 win against Ohio Northern for the first time since the 2001-02 season.

Leading the way for Mount Union was Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) and Megan Leibensperger (Uniontown/Green) who each won three events.

Both Lautenschleger and Leibensperger each were a part of the 800 yard freestyle relay win with a time of 8:24.97. Also included in the relay was Rebecca Oblak (Strongsville/Strongsville) and Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield).

Lautenschleger also won the 200 yard freestyle (2:00.25) and the 200 yard backstroke (2:11.31) while Leibensperger won the 1000 yard freestyle (11:21.10) and the 500 yard freestyle (5:33.35).

The Raiders defeated Wilmington 130-75 last season. Mount Union travels to New Wilmington, Ohio Saturday, Jan. 30 to take on Westminster at 1:00 p.m.
