SHENANDOAH, Texas – Mount Union's junior swimmer Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) earned Honorable Mention All-America honors with a 10th place finish in the 1650 yard freestyle as she competed in her last day of the NCAA Divion III Swimming Championships.

Lautenschleger placed 10th in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 17:05.66. This is her second All-American honor of the week as she also placed 7th in the 500 yard freestyle and posted a season-best time of 4:56.39 and earned All-American honors.

She is the first female Purple Raider to become an All-American in back to back years since 1990.

The top 20 qualifiers in each event earned bids into the NCAA championship meet.

Once in the meet, each swimmer may compete in more optional events up to a maximum of three.

She is the lone female representative from the OAC. Mount Union's Tyler Moore (Amherst/Steele) swam in the meet a two years ago and Lautenschleger, who is swimming in the meet for a second straight year, is the first Raider female qualifier since diver Mary Vallinger in 2009.

The preliminaries will begin each day at 11 a.m. with the finals starting at 7 p.m. each night.

The top eight placers in each event earn All-America honors and placers 9-16 earn Honorable Mention All-America accolades.
