Women's Swimming and Diving: Raiders Finish Fourth in Wooster Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio - The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place at the Wooster Invitational Saturday night.

The Purple Raiders were led by sophomore Aurelia Incristi (Rockwall, Tex. / Rockwall) swimming the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 54.23 in fifth overall.

Junior Maggie Gyurke (Bellevue / St. Mary Central Catholic) and freshman Annabelle Saultz (Lorain / Amherst Steele) finished sixth and eight overall with times of 1:05.10 and 1:09.79 in the 100-yard IM.

Gyurke also competed in the 200-yard Butterfly finishing eight overall in a time of 2:21.92.

A pair of Raiders swam in the 1650-yard Freestyle with sophomore Callie Landry (Broussard, La. / Teurlings Catholic) coming in seventh overall (18:36.47) with freshman Alexis Schuller (Middleburg Heights / Berea-Midpark) finishing right behind in eight (18:43.96)

Rounding out the scoring for the night was the 400-yard Freestyle Relay team consisting of senior Elise Pichola (Rocky River), freshman Nichol Ellesin (Alliance / Marlington), Incristi, and Schuller swam a time of 3:44.38 good for sixth overall.

Mount Union will take a break in competition and compete again after the new year in an Ohio Athletic Conference duel against Ohio Northern Saturday, Jan. 11at 1 p.m. in Ada, Ohio.
