Women's Tennis Faces Otterbein Friday

Mount Union's women's tennis team travels to Westerville, Ohio to face Otterbein Friday at 1:00 p.m. 

The Purple Raiders have a record of 7-3 overall and 1-0 in the OAC and are coming off a 9-0 shutout of Muskingum in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener last Saturday. 

The Raiders have a combined singles record as a team of 36-24, while in doubles their combined record is 18-12. 

Sophomore MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern) leads the Raiders with an 8-2 singles record while the doubles pairing of junior Lauren Olivier (Chagrin Falls/Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore Taylor Dowling (Canton/Massillon Jackson) lead the team with a record of 6-2. 

Otterbein has a record of 8-3 on the season is coming off playing five matches is Orlando, Florida where it compiled a record of 4-1 with victories over Lawrence (Wis. ) ((9-0)), Calvin (Mich. ) ((5-4)), Oglethorpe (Ga.) ((7-2)), Univerity of the Ozarks (Ark.) ((7-2)) and fell in its last match to Hamilton (N.Y. ) ((6-3)). 

The Cardinals have a combined singles record of 41-25 while their doubles record is 25-8. 

Current OAC women's tennis player of the week Stroyne leads the Cardinals with an 11-0 singles record while the doubles pairing of Emma Krummel and Adrien Leatherwood lead the team with a 6-2 record. 

Otterbein finished the 2011-12 season with a record of 10-10 and earned the no. 3 seed in the conference where they advanced to the semi-finals but fell to John Carroll. 

Last season, Mount Union defeated Otterbein 5-4 in Alliance, Ohio.
