Women's Tennis Hosts John Carroll Tuesday

Mount Union's women's tennis team hosts John Carroll in an Ohio Athletic Conference tennis match Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 pm at the Whitehill Tennis Courts. 

The Purple Raiders enter Tuesday's match with an overall record of 8-4 and are 2-1 in the OAC. The Raiders are coming off a 6-3 victory in their last match against Baldwin Wallace Saturday afternoon at the "Pop" Collins Courts in Berea, Ohio. 

On the season, the Raiders have a combined singles record of 42-30 and have a combined doubles record of 21-15. 

Sophomore MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern) leads the team with an 8-4 singles record and the doubles pairing of junior Lauren Olivier (Chagrin Falls/Walsh Jesuit) and sophomore Taylor Dowling (Canton/Massillon Jackson) lead with a 6-2 doubles record. 

John Carroll enters Tuesday's match with an overall record of 2-7 and is 1-2 in the conference. The Blue Streaks lost 9-0 to Ohio Northern in their last match Saturday afternoon. 

On the season, the Blue Streaks have a combined singles record of 15-39 and a combined doubles record of 11-16. 

Hannah Baumwell, Tracy Gibson and Emily Gorndt all lead the Blue Streaks with four singles victories and the pairings of Kyle Cousineau and Catherine Engel, Gibson and Anna Stein and Baumwell and Erin Davies all lead the team with four doubles victories. 

The Blue Streaks defeated the Raiders in their only matchup last season 5-4 in University Heights, Ohio. 

Last season, John Carroll had a record of 14-3 and  advanced to the OAC tournament championship where it fell to Ohio Northern.
