Women's Tennis Closes Out the Fall with a Victory

Mount Union's women's tennis team closed the fall season with a 5-4 victory over St. Vincent (Pa.) on Friday afternoon in Alliance, Ohio.

The Purple Raiders close out the fall season 2-0, while the Bearcats fall to 7-5.

Mount Union finished the season with a 7-5 overall record in singles, and 4-2 in doubles.

Three Raiders had two wins on the day, senior Lauren Olivier (Chagrin Falls/ Walsh Jesuit) in the four singles (5-7, 6-3, 6-2), sophomore Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/ Lakeside) in the five singles spot (6-2, 6-2) and three doubles, and junior Taylor Dowling (Canton/ Massillon Jackson) in the number six singles (6-2, 6-2).

It was the duo of Dowling and Olivier though that would clinch the match point and the Mount Union victory when they defeated Kylie Auman and Regina Woloshun 8-4 in the number two doubles.

The Purple Raiders return to the courts on March 4, 2014 when they play Adrian (Mich.).
