Women's Tennis Remains Perfect Against Grove City (Pa.)

GROVE CITY, PA – The Mount Union women's tennis team defeated Grove City (Pa.) College 8-1 Friday afternoon in Grove City.

The Purple Raiders remain undefeated at 6-0 on the season while while Grove City falls to 9-5 on the season.

Mount Union won five of six singles matches, as Mackenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern) defeated Karolina Lagerquist 6-3, 6-0 and Many Wise (North Canton/Hoover) defeated Kendra Tetrick 6-2, 6-1 in the number one and two matches. The Wolverines only victory came in the number three singles as Linnea Peters defeated Megan Czuchra (Mantua/Crestwood) 6-4, 2-6, and 10-3. Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) swept her opponent Madi Mitchell 6-0, 6-0 in the number six singles.

The Raiders swept all three doubles matches, Jenkins and Reichert defeated Lagerquist and Tetrick 8-3 in the first spot, while Wise and Taylor Dowling (Canton/Massillon Jackson) defeated Leah White and Mitchell 8-0 in the three spot.

Mount Union returns to action Tuesday against Ohio Wesleyan at 3:30 at Ohio Wesleyan.
