Women's Tennis: Raiders Host Ohio Wesleyan in Spring Season Home Opener

The Mount Union women's tennis team will host its first home match of the spring season against Ohio Wesleyan. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.


What: Mount Union (7-2, 0-0 OAC) vs. Ohio Wesleyan (3-2, 0-0 NCAC)

When: Wednesday March 16, 2016 at 3:30 p.m.

Where: Whitehill Tennis Courts/McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex—Alliance, Ohio


Match Preview

Mount Union enters the match off a 6-3 win over Grove City. Mount Union came out of doubles down 2-1, with the only win coming from  No.3 doubles team of Ashley Gran (Ashtabula/Lakeside) and Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside). In singles, the Raiders won five of six singles matches to earn their seventh victory of the season. Gretchen Groves (Lousiville/Louisville) secured the match with a three set win at No.1 singles.


Ohio Wesleyan enters the match off a 2-7 loss to St. Mary's (Ind.). Lauren Corcoran and Meryl Reams won in singles to give the Bishops their only wins.

The Raiders will be back in action next Friday, March 25th,  when they host Baldwin Wallace to open OAC play.
