Women's Tennis: 9-0 Win Over Heidelberg Gives Raiders Second Straight Shutout; Fifth Overall

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union women's tennis team defeated Heidelberg (0-11, 0-4 OAC) 9-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Saturday afternoon.

With their second straight shutout and fifth on the season, the Purple Raiders improve to 11-5 and 4-2 in the OAC.

The Raiders won all singles matches in two sets with no score higher than 6-2. Sophomore Sierra Beighey (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) secured the fifth point for the Raiders as the team proceeded to sweep doubles with scores of 8-1, 8-1, and 8-2.

Mount Union's home match campaign continues on Wednesday, April 18 as they host John Carroll at 3:30 p.m.
