CINCINNATI, Ohio -- No. 4 seed Mount Union suffered a 5-0 season-ending loss to top-seeded John Carroll in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals Friday afternoon at the Queen City Racquet Club.

John Carroll took a commanding 3-0 lead over Mount Union after sweeping doubles. In singles play, Mount Union scored points in nearly all their respective matches, but it would not be enough to hold off the defending conference champions.

Senior Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside) completes her career with an overall record of 100-47; 50-22 in singles and 50-25 in doubles. Johnston now sits sixth among Mount Union Women's Tennis career wins leaders.

The Purple Raiders close out the 2017-2018 season with an overall record of 13-7 and a 5-3 record in the OAC. John Carroll improves to 17-6 overall and will advance to the tournament finals match.
