Mount Union's Groves, Johnston and Teaford Earn All-OAC Women's Tennis Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Mount Union junior Gretchen Groves (Louisville), senior Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside) and sophomore Jordan Teaford (Canton/GlenOak) have been named to the 2018 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis teams, as chosen by the conference's head coaches.

Groves is on the all-conference team for a third straight year and second year in a row that she is an All-OAC First Team pick as she went 16-3 at No. 1 singles and 16-4 at No. 1 doubles with Johnston. 

Johnston was an All-OAC Second Team selection after being honorable mention a year ago and she was 17-2 at both No. 2 and No. 3 singles. This season Johnston scored her 100th career win to become the sixth player in school history to achieve such an honor.

Teaford was also on the All-OAC Second Team after being honorable mention in 2017 and went 9-5 at No. 2 singles and 9-6 at No. 2 doubles.

This past season, Mount Union went 13-7 overall, placed fourth in the OAC with a 5-3 mark and advanced to the semifinals of the OAC Tournament.
