Mount Union Tennis Earns All-Academic Team & Scholar Athlete Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Mount Union's women's tennis team along with four women and two men have earned All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

All-Academic teams boast a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. ITA scholar-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year). 

The Purple Raider women's team was one of 126 NCAA Division III teams to be honored while freshman MacKenzie Cavalier (Green), senior Gretchen Groves (Louisville), sophomore Trisha Kohut (Warren / Howland) and freshman Cora Shane (Cuyahoga Falls) all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

On the men's side, sophomore Justin Kelley (Uniontown / Lake) and senior Tyler Tareshawty (Canfield) also got ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades.
