Loy Sets Meet Record in Long Jump to Lead Women's Track to 7th Place Finish at All-Ohio

(WESTERVILLE, OH)--Senior Aubrey Loy (Canton/Massillon Jackson) set a meet record in winning the long jump with a mark of 18-0.5 to lead the Mount Union women's indoor track and field team to a seventh place finish at the All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein College Saturday in Westerville, Ohio.

Loy also finished second in the triple jump (35-7.25) and fourth in the 55 meter dash (7.48) to account for 23 of the Purple Raiders 47 points at the meet.

Mount Union tied Heidelberg for seventh place and was only 1.5 points behind sixth place Otterbein.  Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 81.5 points but only eight points separated third place through seventh place.

Freshman Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) placed second in the 400 meters (1:00) and junior Christin Handley (East Aurora, NY/Iroquois Central) was third in the 1 mile run (5:15.33) as the other top finishes for the Raiders.

Mount Union hosts the Mount Union Open next Saturday at the Peterson Fieldhouse in Alliance.
