Stalter, Loy and Patton Named Academic All-OAC Women's Cross Country/Track and Field
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio--Mount Union seniors Heather Stalter (Marietta/Marietta) and Aubrey Loy (Canton/Massillon Jackson) along with junior Annie Patton (Darlington, PA/Blackhawk) were each named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country/Track and Field by the conference's 10 faculty athletics representatives.
It is Stalter's second straight Academic All-OAC selection as
she twice earned All-OAC Cross Country honors and raced in this
past year's NCAA Cross Country Championships. In 2009, she
was the OAC Distant
Runner of Meet at the OAC Outdoor Championships after winning the
10,000 meters and finishing second in the 5000 meters. She
recently graduated with a degree in middle childhood education with
a 3.77 grade point average.
Loy won OAC Outdoor Track and Field titles in the long jump and
triple jump while also being part of the third place and All-OAC
4x100 meter relay squad. She also claimed long jump and
triple jump titles and was named Outstanding Field Athlete of the
Meet at the OAC Indoor Championships this season. She is also
two-time All-American in the indoor long jump and recently
graduated from Mount Union with a degree in psychology and a 3.36
grade point average.
Patton, also a two-time Academic All-OAC pick, placed third in the shot put and earned All-OAC honors at this year's OAC Outdoor Track Championships. An All-American in 2009 in the javelin, she is the OAC's record holder in the event with a mark of 144-07. In the classroom, Patton maintains a 3.88 grade point average as an exercise science major.
The award winners are selected by the OAC faculty athletic representatives. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 gpa, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his second year of participation in the sport.
