BEREA, Ohio--Mount Union sophomore Aubree Jones (Falconer, NY/Falconer) and freshman Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) competed at the 2010 NCAA Track and Field Championships at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
Jones placed 13th in the women's discus (135-10). Jones was the OAC's women's field athlete of the meet after winning both the javelin and discus at the OAC Championships.
Mahoney was the only freshman that qualified to race in the 400 meters and posted a time of 57.21 and missed the finals by just over a second. She placed 16th in the 200 meters.
Mahoney was also one of only two freshman in a loaded 200 field that featured all five All-Americans including two of the top three finishers from a year ago.
In her first college season, Mahoney set the school-record in the 200 meters (25.02).
