AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union sophomore Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

Kring placed in three events at this past Saturday's SPIRE North Coast Open held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.  She was second in 60 meter hurdles (8.99) and sixth in the 60 meters (8.16) then teamed with juniors Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) and Daryn Herman (Fairview Park/Fairview) along with sophomore Emily Mazzaferri (Canton/GlenOak) to win the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:58.01.

That time put the 4x400 meter relay team as the fifth fastest in the nation and Kring is also ranked third in the nation in the 60 meter hurdles.

Mount Union runs this week at the OAC Split Meet Friday evening at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea.
