Top Ranked Women's Track & Field Team Heads to All-Ohio Championships Saturday
Mount Union's women's indoor track and field team is ranked No. 1 in the Great Lakes regional rankings as the Purple Raiders head to the All-Ohio Championships Saturday at Otterbein University in Westerville.
Junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) enters the meet seeded No. 1 in the 200 meters, 400 meters and part of the 4x200 meter relay team with sophomores Lisa Brasdovich (Columbia Station/Columbia), Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch) and Taylor Ruffing (Attica/Seneca East).
Kring is also the top seed in the 60 meter hurdles and part of the top seeded 4x400 meter relay squad with junior Daryn Herman (Fairview Park/Fairview), sophomore Emily Mazzaferri (Canton/GlenOak) and freshman Darien Singleton (Senecaville/Meadowbrook).
Other high seeded Raiders are senior Aubree Jones (Falconer, N.Y./Falconer) second in the shot put, Mazzaferri is third in the 800 meters while the distance medley relay team of freshmen Brooke Mathie (Louisville/Louisville), Emily Rowe (Madison/Madison), Miranda Stockton (Cuyahoga Falls/Woodridge) and junior Corinne Midlik (Medina/Medina) is ranked 2nd.
