Women's Indoor Track & Field 7th at NCAA Championships; Four Raiders Earn All-American Honors

GRINNELL, Iowa -- Mount Union's women's track and field placed seventh at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Grinnell, Iowa.

Junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) finished a stellar indoor season with a second place finish in the 400 meters with a school-record time of 55.93.

It was her first All-American honor in indoor track as she was named Great Lakes Indoor Sprint Athlete of the Year just before the meet.

Mahoney also earned All-American honors along with teammates in fellow junior Daryn Herman (Fairview Park/Fairview) along with sophomores Emily Mazzaferri (Canton/GlenOak) and Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch) with a fourth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.

Mazzaferri also claimed All-American accolades with a sixth place finish in the 800 meters (2:17.21) and Kring posted an All-American finish with a seventh place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (8.93).

Senior Aubree Jones (Falconer, N.Y./Falconer) also competed in the shot put and finished 15th.
