Mount Union's Mary Mahoney and Aubree Jones Named OAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union swept the Ohio Athletic Conference weekly women's track and field awards this week as junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) was named OAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week and senior Aubree Jones (Falconer, N.Y./Falconer) was named OAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Mahoney bested her own school-record in winning the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.37.  It is also the top time in NCAA Division III nationally so far this year.

Mahoney also teamed with sophomores Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch),Taylor Ruffing (Attica/Seneca East), Lisa Brasdovich (Columbia Station/Columbia) to win the 4x100 meter relay (48.82).

Jones claimed wins and posted provisional qualifying marks to the NCAA Championships in both the javelin (124-3) and shot put (41-3.25).

The duo helped lead Mount Union to the team title at the Stark County Championships this past weekend.

The Purple Raiders will next compete on March 31 at John Carroll University in the OAC Gold Meet.
