AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union sophomore Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Kring continued her dominance of the hurdles this past weekend at the John Homon Open at Mount Union as she won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.30 and 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.38.
Her time in the 100 meter hurdles would have been the fourth-best time in the nation, but an over 4.0 tailwind nullified that mark in the national rankings. She is still ranked fifth in the event nationally with a time of 14.73.
She was also part of the winning 4x100 meter relay team from the this past weekend that posted a time of 48.84 that is ranked 17th in the nation.
Kring and the rest of the Purple Raiders run this week at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
