ALLIANCE, Ohio -- No. 11 ranked Mount Union set two new women's track and field indoor records Saturday at the Jim Wuske Invitational at Peterson Fieldhouse in Alliance.
Senior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) added her name to another line on the Purple Raiders' record board as she set a new school record in the 500 meters with a time of 1:16.61.
The other record came from sophomore Carly Stock (Cuyahoga Heights/Cuyahoga Heights) who bested her own school record in the weight throw with a mark of 48-2.5. Stock also won the shot put (40-4.75).
Sophomore Miranda Stockton (Cuyahoga Falls/Woodridge) won the 3,000 meters (11:30.91), junior Rachel Smith (Waterford, Pa./Ft. LeBeouf) won the 1 mile run (5:26.71), sophomore Brooke Benner (Orrville/Orrville) won the 800 meters (2:25.66), juniors Emily Mazzaferri (Canton/GlenOak) and Taylor Ruffing (Attica/Seneca East) rounded out the event winners with wins in the 1,000 meters (3:15.76) and 60 meter hurdles (9.38) respectively.
Mount Union competes next week at the All-Ohio Champioships at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
