AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union senior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Mahoney was part of three meet records to help lead the Purple Raiders to All-Ohio Indoor Track & Field Championship for a second straight year.
Mahoney set meet records in winning both the 60 meter dash (7.79) and 200 meters (25.18) then she teamed with senior Daryn Herman (Fairview Park/Fairview), junior Emily Mazzaferri (Canton/GlenOak) and sophomore Courtney Reese(Cleveland/Cornerstone Christian) to set another meet record in winning the 4x400 relay (3:58.33).
Mahoney was also part of another event win as she ran a leg of the first place 4x200 relay with junior Lisa Brasdovich(Columbia Station/Columbia), sophomore Taylor Coghlan (Twinsburg/Twinsburg) and freshman Veronica Clutter(Geneva/Geneva).
It is the second time this season, she has earned the award.
Mount Union runs this week at the Kent State Tune-Up.
