Season Bests Headline Women's Track & Field at Akron

AKRON, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's track and field team had a handful of season-best marks Saturday at the Campbell-Wright Invitational at the University of Akron.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team of senior Daryn Herman (Fairview Park/Fairview), juniors Lisa Brasdovich (Columbia Station/Columbia) and Emily Mazzaferri (Canton/GlenOak) with sophomore Courtney Reese (Cleveland/Cornerstone Christian) finished second with a season-best time of 3:57.18.

Freshmen Jocelyn Sefick (Willowick/Eastlake North) and Veronica Clutter (Geneva/Geneva) also had season-bests with a second in the triple jump (36-2) and a fourth in the long jump (17-8.75) respectively.

Other top performances came in a second place finish by the 4x100 relay team (48.34) of Clutter, Brasdovich, sophomore Taylor Coghlan (Twinsburg/Twinsburg) and junior Taylor Ruffing (Attica/Seneca East) and a third place in the javelin (116-09) from Maya Brown (Tiffin/Columbian).

The Purple Raiders compete next Friday at the Allegheny Inviational in Meadville, Pa.
