NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Mount Union's women's track and field relay teams qualified for next week's NCAA Championships with strong performances at the North Central Gregory Invitational at North Central College.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Lisa Brasdovich (Columbia Station/Columbia), Courtney Reese (Cleveland/Cornerstone Christian), Daryn Herman (Fairview Park/Fairview) and Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) entered the final regular season meet needed a good time to secure a spot in the national championships and turned in the best mark in the nation as they ran to a school record time of 3:46.36.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Taylor Coghlan (Twinsburg/Twinsburg), Taylor Ruffing (Attica/Seneca East), Lisa Brasdovich (Columbia Station/Columbia) and Veronica Clutter (Geneva/Geneva) improved their qualifying standard as they posted the 10th best time in the nation this season with a time of 47.91.
These seven Purple Raiders will represent Mount Union at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships next week in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
