MARIETTA, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's indoor track and field team won its fifth straight and sixth overall Ohio Athletic Confernce championship Saturday at Marietta College.
The Purple Raiders tallied a total of 177.5 points which was a 30-point margin ahead of second place Ohio Northern 147.5.
Kevin Lucas, in his seventh year as women's head coach, and his staff earned OAC Staff of the Year honors.
The top three finishes in every event earned All-OAC honors.
Mount Union had a balanced effort as eight athletes scored in double figures led by the trio of junior Dana Crofoot (Perry/Perry) 24 points, freshman Hilary Reigle (Madison/Madison) 20.5 points and senior Joceyln Sefick (Willowick/Eastlake North) 20 points.
Crofoot was part of the conference champion 4x200 meter relay (1:44.06) squad with junior Marisa Rinaldi (Tallmadge/Tallmadge) and sophomores Steph Donley (Carrollton/Carrollton) and Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls/Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary).
She then had a second place finish in the long jump (18-1.5) and a fifth place in the 200 meters (26.34).
Last but not least, she was part of the third place and all-conference 4x400 relay team (4:04.91) with Donley, Rinaldi and Marrianna White (4:04.91).
After running the anchor leg on the conference winning distance medley relay team on Friday, Reigle came back Saturday and won the mile (5:07.82) and took second in the 800 meters (2:22.07).
Sefick posted second place finishes in the high jump (5-6.5), 55 meter hurdles (8.41) to along with a fifth place finish in the triple jump (35-6.75).
Along with being on the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams, Donley won the title in the 200 meters and placed fifth in the 55 meters.
Mount Union won five total events inlcuding wins on Friday in the long jump from Veronica Clutter (Geneva/Geneva) and the distance medley relay team of Reigle, freshmen Hannah Reigle (Madison/Madison) and Toni Beuck (Cleveland/Villa Angela-St. Joseph) along with senior Caitlin Nagy (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy).
Rinaldi also got all-conference honors placing second in the 400 meters (58.59).
Junior Mandy Mohn (Louisville/Louisville) nabbed all-conference honors with a third in the 5000 meters (18:31.24) to go along with a fourth in the 3000 meters (10:27.60) and a sixth in the mile (5:18.66).
All-conference accolades also came in a third place finish in the high jump from junior Hailee Ellinwood (5-3.25) and sophomore Katie Vance (Norwayne / Norwayne) in the 1000 meters (3:06.82).
