BEREA, Ohio – Mount Union's women's track and field team is in third place after day one of the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships at Baldwin Wallace in Berea.

Five events were completed on day one and the Purple Raiders scored 34 points which is three points behind second place Ohio Northern (37). Otterbein leads the meet with 44 points.

Mount Union freshman Daijana Johnson (Alliance/Alliance) won the long jump with a season-best mark of 19-feet, 4.25-inches. That mark is also 12th best in NCAA Division III this season that provisionally qualifies her for the NCAA Championships.

Junior Dana Crofoot (Madison/Madison) also earned all-conference honors with a third place finish in the long jump.

Mount Union's other all-conference performance on the day came in a third place finish from Hilary Reigle (Madison/Madison) in the 3000 meters (10:28.99).

The Raiders are positioned for a good day on Saturday as a number of athletes qualified for the finals in running events.

Johnson has the top spot in the 55 meter dash, fellow freshman Rachel Adams (Louisville/St. Thomas Aquinas) grabbed the top spot in the 200 meter and senior Marisa Rinaldi (Tallmadge/Tallmadge) is in front in the 400 meters.
