Mount Union's women's track and field team was picked to win its eighth straight Ohio Athletic Conference title in the OAC coaches' preseason poll.
The Purple Raiders received eight first place votes and have 80 total points in the top spot in the poll. Ohio Northern has the other two first place votes and is in second in the poll with 73 points.
Otterbein (66 pts), John Carroll (56 pts) and Baldwin Wallace (47 pts) round out the top five.
Mount Union returns six athletes from a year ago that earned all-conference honors with a top three finish in an event.
Junior Steph Donley (Carrollton/Carrollton) was part of two event wins in last year's outdoor championships as she won the 200 meters and was part of the first place 4x100 meter relay team.
She also was part of the second place 4x400 meter relay team and was fourth in the 100 meter dash.
Goedecke was OAC Co-Outstanding Sprint Athlete of the Meet at the OAC Indoor Championships earlier this year with teammate in senior Marisa Rinaldi (Tallmadge/Tallmadge).
Rinaldi, who placed second in the 4x400relay and the 400 meters at last year's outdoor championship, is coming off an impressive indoor season after placing third in the 200 meters, winning the 400 meters and was a member of the conference record setting 4x200 meter relay.
The 2017 OAC Track & Field Championships will be held April 28-29 at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio.
