WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's track & field team had a school record and three career best marks on a rainy day one of the Wooster Invitational Friday at The College of Wooster.

Katie Vance (Norwayne / Norwayne) placed second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a career-best time of 11:29.29. That is also a provisional mark to the NCAA Championships as it is the 12th best time in the nation so far this year.

Courtney Berish (Mantua / Crestwood) and Aubrey Fruchey (Columbus Grove / Columbus Grove) each posted career-best marks as they went 2-3 in the hammer throw respectively.

Berish bested her own school record in the event with a mark of 150-feet, 3-inches which is also the 16th best mark in the nation so far this season.

Fruchey had a throw of 139-feet, 7-inches on the day.

Only four events were contested on day one as the high jump originally slated for today was pushed to Saturday due to the inclement weather.

Events on Saturday are slated to begin with field events at 11 a.m. and running events at 1 p.m.
