WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's 4x100 meter relay team won the event running the fastest time in NCAA Division III so far this season in leading the Purple Raiders to the team title at the Wooster Track & Field Invitational Saturday.
The team of freshmen Daijana Johnson (Alliance / Alliance) and Rachael Adams (Louisville / St. Thomas Aquinas) with juniors Steph Donley (Carrollton / Carrollton) and Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls / Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) posted a time of 47.28 which also set a stadium record.
Adams, Goedecke and Donley also went second, third and fourth respectively in the 100 meter dash.
Senior Marisa Rinaldi (Tallmadge / Tallmadge) won the 400 meters (58.67) and was second in the 200 meters (25.70) while the Purple Raiders also got a win in the 1500 meters from junior Hilary Reigle (Madison/Madison) with a time of 4:54.35.
Rounding out the top performances were third place finishes from freshman Quinn Crowe (New Sprigfield / Springfield Local) in the discus, senior Kelani Nuckols (Lodi / Cloverleaf) in the triple jump and freshman Lindsay Thut (Aurora / Crestwood) in the 400 meters.
Mount Union totalled 155.5 points which bested second place Walsh (131.5) by 24 points.
The Raiders host the John Homon Open next Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8 at Mount Union Stadium.
