NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's 400 meter relay team ran the best time in NCAA Division III so far this season winning the event Saturday at the Walsh University Invitational.
The team of senior Marisa Rinaldi (Tallmadge/Tallmadge), junior Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls/Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary) and freshmen Daijana Johnson (Alliance/Alliance) and Rachael Adams (Louisville/St. Thomas Aquinas) ran the race in a time of 46.85 which was just 0.04 seconds off the school record.
The quartet was not done there as Rinaldi was second in the 400 meters with a time of 57.80, Johnson was third in the 200 meters at 25.22 while Adams and Goedecke went 2-3 in the 100 with season best times of 12.27 and 12.35 respectively.
Junior Dana Crofoot (Perry/Perry) also placed third in the long jump (17-10).
Mount Union's distance runners ran at the Bucknell Invite in Lewisburg, Pa., and junior Katie Vance (Norwayne/Norwaye) ran a season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:20.11).
